How to Take A Nap
We have read a hundred of articles about the importance of taking a nap in relation to performing our job well. During the day, we need to get a few minutes of sleep to recoup whatever element of life that we have lost in our scarce hours of sleep during the night, as brought by our hectic day-to-day schedules. So the next question is, how do we take a nap?
The first step, ironically, is to try not to think that you are going to take a nap all. Commanding your brain to doze off just like that is not easy for most of us, and lingering on the idea of you begging your brain to take a short nap would just trigger it to create more and more connecting images and ideas to ponder on. Just close your eyes, throw all worries and problems out the window and pamper yourself with an empty mind.
The success of taking a short nap relies on your immediate environment, so make sure that you're in the right place as you try to take that invigorating short sleep. One, complete darkness makes the eyes more relaxed, so switch off any artificial light, and close the blinds and the windows if you can. Two, Find a place where you can lie down if possible, as sleeping in a sitting position is proven fifty percent less effective than sleeping while lying. And lastly, get yourself some white music. There are now available recordings featuring music that can allure you to sleep, like the gentle sound of rain and the mellow whistle of the wind.
